History and Philosophy
Leads To Sales was founded in 1986 in Chicago, when B2B sales was in it’s infancy, and outbound marketing was the only kind of marketing. We opened our St. Louis headquarters in 2009 and continue to operate from there today. We’ve seen our business grow from basic B2B sales support, to advanced outbound marketing and B2B lead generation for clients across dozens of industries – high-technology, energy, healthcare, life science, engineering, manufacturing, pharmaceutical/chemical, and more. B2B sales and outbound marketing are what we’ve always done, we genuinely enjoy it, and we’ve gotten reasonably good at it. Of course things have changed over the years, and our approach to B2B sales has evolved with the digital world. We understand inbound marketing and social media in B2B lead generation. We also know there will always be value in human interaction as part of the B2B sales process. And those conversations are what we’re good at – conversations combining phone, email, voice mail and web analytics, even social media. The fundamentals of outbound marketing and a respectful approach to B2B sales are as valuable today as they were when we started. The photography on our site is the work of our good friend Larry Emerson. While Leads To Sales finds B2B sales opportunities that might otherwise be missed, Larry is a master at seeing what most of us overlook in the world around us. His sharp eye and vibrant color sense beautifully highlight the details of everyday life. In one of my favorite baseball books, “Are We Winning?”, fellow St. Louis native Will Leitch describes his father: “Dad has made a new friend. This is typical. If you leave my father alone for as long as thirty seconds, he will start talking to some stranger. This is just what Dad does. Dad can talk to anybody.” That describes me perfectly (ask my kids). Whether it’s a talent or a curse, I’ve been lucky enough to build a 30-year career on that trait. Even better, I’ve found a bunch of people just like me all over the country. And that’s what makes Leads To Sales work. When we launched our virtual business model in 2009, Leads To Sales recognized that if we recruited nationwide, the talent pool was amazing. And if these seasoned B2B sales veterans worked in their own home offices, their positive outlook and experience delivered incredible results. It wasn’t visionary, it just made sense. No company, including Leads To Sales, could find this kind of talent locally and expect them to commute to a call center to shout over their peers in a cubicle. As the virtual business landscape developed, so did our B2B sales and outbound marketing model. We now have an extensive network of B2B sales professionals located in over a dozen states, linked by an outbound marketing portal to manage and measure every aspect of the work we do for our clients.
Cliff Langston has helped B2B sales and marketing leaders integrate marketing and sales for over thirty years. Cliff’s background includes leadership positions at two global marketing agencies, and ten years’ as a corporate marketing executive with Sigma-Aldrich, a Fortune 500 global manufacturer (now part of MilliporeSigma/MerckMillipore). The concepts of B2B lead generation – B2B sales and outbound marketing – are the backbone of his professional experience. Along the way, Cliff served as an adjunct professor of graduate marketing for six years, and developed marketing curriculum for eight different marketing courses for a leading national university. He has been active in the Business Marketing Association (BMA), American Marketing Association (AMA), and the Direct Marketing Association (DMA), and has delivered presentations at several of their national conferences. Cliff co-founded and managed a large St. Louis-based youth baseball organization, is a member of the Wentzville School District’s CTE Advisory Council, active in local high school DECA Marketing Club and FBLA business clubs, and donates his talents to help local private schools with their marketing efforts.
B2B Sales Specialist
Steve has 60 years sales experience – and that’s not a typo! He started selling caramel popcorn door-to-door at the age of nine, and has been in some form of B2B sales or sales management ever since. His career in B2B sales spanned a number of industries, including industrial distribution sales and OEM account management focused on high volume market share. Steve has managed B2B sales teams, inside sales teams, and lead generation departments. A pioneer in the B2B sales world, his insight and experience add a perspective not typically found in a B2B lead generation rep. In addition to his account ownership responsibilities at Leads To Sales, Steve is our lead quality and feedback expert. In his spare time you can find him spending time with family, participating in outdoor activities and gospel singing.
B2B Sales Specialist
Marijo has 30 years experience using the phone in business, dating back to her start in customer service with Continental Airlines in 1987.After a move to inside sales, she began doing B2B sales from her home office in 2006, another pioneer in the concept of outsourced B2B sales. This gave her the freedom to stay home with three young boys and still have a professional income. Although her boys are now well into adulthood, she’s found a passion she truly enjoys. Marijo has a degree in criminal justice administration and comes from a long line of police officers including her father three uncles. Perhaps that’s why she’s always loved the investigative aspect of lead generation – trying to find the correct contact, data mining, and asking the right qualifying questions. In addition to her account owner responsibilities, Marijo is also one of our list research experts – specializing in building custom lists for our clients. In her free time, Marijo enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family and watching the Green Bay Packers!
B2B Sales Specialist
Leihla has been in B2B sales and outbound marketing for twenty years, focused specifically on B2B lead generation for the past eight. A happily married mother of four, Leihla works from her home office in Wisconsin, and spends the winter months dreaming of living in any place warm with a beach. Having worked at a major beer distributor Leihla learned the value in helping field sales realize that sales and marketing can work together! She’s a licensed pharmacy clinician, and spent many years working for a leading scientific company in the Chicagoland area. Since leaving the corporate world to become a B2B sales pro, she says she could not be happier. She loves talking to new people, and helping B2B sales organizations reach their quotas. Leihla sums it up best when she says she’s been given a gift, and takes that very seriously. Each day I set out to make to every prospect know they are important our clients, just like our clients are so important to Leads To Sales. In addition to her account ownership responsibilities, Leihla also serves as our virtual team leader and supports our nationwide network of reps in their daily tasks.

Anita has over 20 years of B2B sales and outbound marketing experience, and has been with Leads To Sales since 2010. Prior to joining Leads to Sales, Anita worked at a few B2B sales and outbound marketing firms assisting the B2B sales force of clients in the information technology, benefit/retirement, business travel, corporate card, biometrics and professional services industries. True to form with our team, Anita was born with the gift of gab, so for her, picking up the phone and making that important first impression is what she enjoys the most. In addition to her account owner responsibilities, Anita is also one of our list research experts – specializing in building custom lists for our clients. Anita also loves spending time with her family, watching sports (Go New York Yankees, Dallas Cowboys & Penn State!), going on cruises and taking trips to some of her favorite places, including Las Vegas (yes, she’s addicted to the Wheel of Fortune slot machine!).
